Integrated Handle Built-in Oven

Introducing Integrated Handle Built-in Oven

Buit-in oven features a thoughtfully designed integrated handle that enhances its aesthetic appeal and functional practicality. This design decision eliminates needing an external protruding handle, contributing to a sleeker, more minimalistic appearance. This approach ensures a cohesive, clean look in any modern kitchen setting, supporting the goal of creating a seamless, high-end appliance experience.

Key Design Features

The Built-in Oven design with an integrated handle is supported by many new and useful technologies. One of these is the smoking feature, which offers a unique smoking feature that allows users to enrich their dishes with smoky flavors.
The interface is designed to be stylish and user-friendly and offers intuitive controls that disappear when the oven is off, creating a seamless appearance in the kitchen.
The oven maintains optimum smoking temperatures with minimal energy, requiring only a small amount of wood chips for long-lasting flavor. In addition, recycled materials are used for certain components, supporting environmentally friendly design practices.

Constraints & Challenge

To grind the rectangle's corners,  the corner diameter must be at least 10 mm.

The dimensions of the rectangular area created for the handle on the door glass were determined in advance. The design was shaped in line with these dimensions. (390 mm x 42 mm)

For the plastic handle to hold onto the glass and stand firmly, the frame width had to be at least 5mm.

The part above the glass cut-out must be at least 48 mm to maintain strength.

Moodboard & Styling

Contemporary kitchen design trends increasingly emphasize matte black finishes, minimalism, and seamless integration. Matte black surfaces are favored for their timeless elegance and ability to create striking contrasts with lighter cabinetry and countertops, enhancing the overall aesthetic.

Seamless integration of appliances and fixtures, such as built-in handles and flush surfaces, supports the desire for harmonious spaces, making kitchens feel more expansive and visually appealing while facilitating easy maintenance and user convenience.

Ideation & Sketches

The aim was to design the elements used in the oven in a grouped manner. In this way, the surfaces that users interact with become more understandable, while the aim was to give the product a rich structure with differentiation in design details.
